Dr Aidan Tay

Project Detail

Past projects – tool development for proteomics, long-read RNA-seq for splice variant discovery

Aidan’s research interests and PhD research included tool development for integration of genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data. Aidan developed the PGNexus tool, which allows covisualization of peptides and RNA-Seq reads in the context of genomes/genomic contigs. Aidan also developed the PTMOracle tool, a Cytoscape app for visualizing post-translational modifications in protein interaction networks. This app has been downloaded more than 5000 times from the Cytoscape App store (https://apps.cytoscape.org/download/stats/ptmoracle/). Aidan’s expertise in the analysis of Oxford Nanopore, long read RNA-seq data was drawn on for the RNA Atlas project, published in Nature Biotechnology, in which is was a co-author.
