new paper in the Journal of Molecular Biology

Our paper “Site-specific Phosphorylation of Histone H3K36 Methyltransferase Set2p and Demethylase Jhd1p is Required for Stress Responses in Saccharomyces cerevisiae” has just been published in the Journal of Molecular Biology. This paper shows how one or a few phosphorylation sites on a histone methyltransferase or a histone demethylase can be the linchpin for the yeast cell’s response to a specific stress. Importantly, this paper also starts to build important connections between the cell’s signaling system and its chromatin-mediated system of gene regulation. Congratulations to PhD student Ryan Separovich, first author, and also Mandy, Tara and Josh who made all this happen! doi: 10.1016/j.jmb.2022.167500
