Positions at the SBI
Honours, Masters and Doctoral Students and Post-Doctoral Research Associates
We undertake wet lab projects that study the regulation of systems and processes. A particular focus is the role of protein methylation and phosphorylation, and their structural and functional crosstalk. We are funded to study these in the regulatory network of histone methylation and the core ribosome, using advanced proteomic tools.
Our bioinformatics projects have a strong focus on next-generation sequencing data. Typically, this is in association with the UNSW Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics. We also develop tools, largely for the analysis of protein networks and the post-translational modifications of proteins therein.
Our group includes research post-docs, who are experts in many aspects of proteomics, bioinformatics, genomics and systems biology, as well as numerous PhD and Honours students. Dozens of post-docs, PhD students and honours students are alumni of the SBI.
Enquiries are welcome from all future students and post-doctoral researchers who have an interest in joining the group. We especially welcome DECRA and other fellowship candidates – the group has a strong track record of mentoring post-docs for successful fellowship applications. We’d love to hear from you!
