Aidan’s paper on protein isoform analysis published

Aidan Tay has just had a new paper published in the Journal of Proteome Research. The paper, titled “Identification of Protein Isoforms Using Reference Databases Built from Long and Short Read RNA-Sequencing” shows that Oxford Nanopore, direct long-read RNA sequencing can be used to generate reference databases for the human transcriptome. When then queried with MS/MS data, these long-read-derived reference databases allow a substantial increase in the total number of proteins and protein isoforms identified from a cell line – as compared to reference databases built with short-read Illumina-based RNA sequencing.
